Our pack is heading to the beautiful Bovay Scout Ranch in Navasota for an unforgettable camping experience this Friday! With rolling hills, sparkling lakes, and spectacular sunsets, this Adventure Camp weekend promises excitement, bonding, and memories to cherish. What to Expect at Bovay Scout Ranch: Located at 3450 County Road 317, Navasota, TX 77868, Bovay Scout Ranch sprawls over 1,498 acres and is a haven for local flora and fauna. The native Huisache and Bois-d'arc trees surround us as we embark on various activities, from fun program events to evening flag ceremonies. Ensuring a Safe and Memorable Experience: Safety and order are paramount. From the moment of arrival to departure, every step has been meticulously planned. Campers will check in upon arrival, and our designated leader will manage the registration process. Camp activities kick off on Saturday morning. Departure is streamlined to ensure our campsite is tidy and damage-free. We're in this together – from cleaning assigned showers to picking up trash. Other Important Information:

Pack 133 News Fall CalendarThe Pack 133 committee has finalized the fall schedule for the upcoming school year, including key events for the Spookoree Camp-Out and the Pack Holiday Party.
Coastal Plains District News Cub Scout Pack 133 participation is not required for these events or informational purposes. Rocket Day Coastal Plains Rocket Day 2023 is set for Saturday, October 21, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Mayorga Ranch, Orchard, TX. New Cub Scouts will showcase pre-assembled rockets, emphasizing the importance of preparing them before the event. Considering potential wait times, attendees should bring personal essentials, such as pre-filled water bottles, chairs, and snacks. The event, held at the picturesque venue provided by the Mayorga Family, underscores the "Leave No Trace" ethos and adherence to BSA YPT rules. Webelos Woods - November 10-12, 2023 The 2023 Coastal Plains Webelos Woods, taking place from November 10-12 at Long Acre Ranch in Richmond, TX, offers Webelos Scouts a firsthand taste of Scouting's outdoor adventures. Troop 801 organized the weekend campout, immersing Webelos dens in patrol-method camping and round-robin Scout activities. Saturday's agenda has Webelos competing in essential Scouting skills, from knot-tying to first aid, while also learning from local troops in the afternoon. As they camp alongside host troops, these young Scouts partake in fun competitions, delve into meal preparations, and engage in campfire skits and songs on Saturday night. This valuable experience is complemented by the provision of supper by the host troops and guidance for parents on transitioning their Webelos Scouts to a troop. With a registration deadline of November 8th and a fee of $10, it's an essential event for both Scouts and their leaders, designed to bridge the journey from Webelos to full-fledged Scouting. Join us as we unleash their potential and learn valuable life skills. From our Pack Committee Chair Jamy Ryals: "Our annual Popcorn Fundraiser is kicking off again after the school year begins. We currently have a budget shortfall, so it is important that scouts participate in raising funds so we can afford to pay for scout awards, camping, and storage costs. If the pack does not raise enough funds through popcorn sales, we will be forced to change our pack to require monthly membership dues. Our preference is to achieve our goals through fundraising, but we need your participation. I have sent invitations to all scouts on the roster that aren't already in Trails-End. You can log in and sign your scout up for Store Front shifts on the website. Pack 133 has planned an exciting lineup of events during the summer months to support our members in earning the National Summertime Award. Webelos Scout Adventure Camp Webelos Scout Adventure Camp is a three-night campout at Camp Strake for Scouts entering fourth and fifth grade the following school year. Webelos Scouts will work on rank advancements and shoot archery and air rifles. The camp is being held at Camp Strake 2020 (Camp Strake Rd., Coldspring, TX 77331). Webelos Scouts will design their program and can shoot BB guns, shoot air rifles, and work on several Adventures. Webelos Scouts will pick ten activities (five on day two and five on day 3). March 13, 2023 Pack 133 News Pack 133 Pinewood Derby on March 25 The Coastal Plains Pack 133 Pinewood Derby is right around the corner. The Derby will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2023, at 2 p.m. at the Historic Fort Bend County Courthouse in Richmond (401 Jackson Street, Richmond, TX 77469). Please reference the rules list before participating in the derby: Click Here Awards will be provided for top scout cars and an “outlaw” category for adults and siblings. Spring Campout Pack 133 will hold a weekend campout on Bovay Scout Ranch in Navasota from Friday evening, May 5, to Sunday morning, May 7, 2023. Meals are provided as part of camp signup fees. You should eat before arriving Friday evening, however, as that meal is not provided. You will need to bring a tent for your family and sleeping bags. We will send more information about this specific event soon. Additional information about Bovay and the adventure camp: Click Here Blue and Gold Banquet The Pack’s annual Blue and Gold Banquet will close out the scouting year on Saturday, May 13, at Sunset Park in Rosenberg. Pack 133 will celebrate Cub Scouts earning their new rank, Cub Scouts moving on to Scouts BSA, and leaders moving on from the pack. Sunset Park is located at 2017 Mulcahy St, Rosenberg, TX 77471. District News For informational purposes, Cub Scout Pack 133 participation is not required for these events. Coastal Plains District Pinewood DerbyThe Coastal Plains District Pinewood Derby will be hosted on April 22, 2023, in Wharton from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The races will occur at the Wharton Knights of Columbus Hall (2820 N. Fulton, Wharton, TX 77488). The races will include scouts from school districts for Lamar Consolidated, Needville, Brazos, Van Vleck, Bay City, Boling, East Bernard, El Campo, Louise, Matagorda, Palacios, Tidehaven, Weimar, and Wharton in Austin and Fort Bend counties. Registered Cub Scouts (kindergarten through 5th grade) and youth considering joining Scouts may register for this event. Please arrive early for check-in. Registration is $11.50 for the first Scout and $10 for each additional Scout and includes a patch. Registration closes on April 21, 2023. At checkout, pay with a credit card or electronic check. University of ScoutingThe University of Scouting is a semi-annual supplemental training program hosted on Saturday, April 1, 2023, at Lone Star College - Tomball campus. Sessions are led by experienced volunteers who will help leaders and parents enhance their ability to deliver a fun and exciting program to the Scouts. Courses include a variety of classes for leaders and parents focusing on Cub Scouts, Webelos Scouts, Scouts BSA, Venturing, Sea Scouts, outdoors, high adventure, conservation, advancement, and STEM/NOVA that will provide information, techniques, and best practices on how to enhance the Scouting program. Full-day classes include Trainer's Edge, Short-Term Camp Administrator Training, and Den Chief and Chaplain's Aid Training. For more info: click here. Twilight CampGrab your safari hat as twilight camp goes to the jungle. Cub Scouts will have a roaring good time! Cub Scouts and their families will learn new skills and make new friends. Twilight camp is a council camp organized by districts and conducted by volunteers from the local area for Cub Scouts entering 1st through 5th grade for the next school year on June 6-9, 2023, from 2 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. each day at Long Acres Ranch (.2335 Richmond Pkwy., Richmond, TX 77469).
